ArtsCore, a partnership between the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the Paine Art Center and Gardens, and regional public school districts, seeks to support pre-service and early career teachers in their efforts to teach in and through the arts by developing and implementing programming designed to enhance their competence, confidence, and resiliency to do so.
Upcoming Events
Colony at the Paine ArtsCore Colony at the Paine is a nine-day professional development series where teachers enroll in teams, from their perspective schools, to learn about arts integration and techniques and how to apply them in their classrooms.
It is recommended, but not required, that a team of two to four teachers from a school enrolls. Having one of the team members be an art/music/theater/dance/phy. ed. teacher would be ideal. Applications for each participant must be submitted by Friday, May 27, 2022, to guarantee your spot. We do require the commitment of attending ALL the professional development days which are listed below. All events are held at the Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The theme of Arts Integration through Storytelling will help teachers use storytelling and the arts to enrich and inspire their teaching practices. Storytelling connects to every discipline, every culture, and every era and will provide a rich base on which participants will collaborate and build.
